Itinerary
Arrival at Cairo Airport where our representative will welcome you and assist with all necessary formalities. You will then be transferred by private vehicle to your hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Giza Plateau with the three Great Pyramids: Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, along with the Sphinx—a lion with a human head embodying a king or deity in a protective stance. Next, visit the necropolis of Saqqara with the famous Step Pyramid of King Djoser, royal pyramids, funerary texts, and mastabas. End the day with a visit to Memphis, showcasing a colossal statue of Ramses II made of alabaster. In the evening, transfer by private vehicle to Cairo station for the sleeper train to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on the train.
Breakfast on the train. Upon arrival at Aswan station, transfer for a visit to the Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis, the Granite Quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk, and the High Dam, which created Lake Nasser. Check-in at your hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a felucca ride around Elephantine Island—a perfect way to experience the Nile and relax with the breeze. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the train station for a journey to Luxor (approximately 3 hours). Upon arrival, visit the Karnak Temple, a site dedicated to the god Amun, where other deities were also worshipped. It is considered the oldest religious site in the world. Then visit the Luxor Temple, consecrated to Amun in both his celestial and ithyphallic forms, with visible elements dating back to Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel. Explore the Valley of the Kings, where most Pharaohs of the 18th to 20th dynasties were buried, and the Valley of the Queens, the necropolis for royal wives, daughters, and occasionally sons of the 19th and 20th dynasties. Continue to the imposing Colossi of Memnon, remnants of Amenhotep III's funerary temple, and visit the Deir el-Bahari Temple, the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, dedicated to Amun as well as Anubis and Hathor. This unique temple is partly carved into the mountain and rises on three terraces connected by ramps. Check out of the hotel by noon. Free afternoon. In the evening, transfer to Luxor station for the sleeper train back to Cairo. Dinner and overnight on the train.
Breakfast on the train. Morning arrival in Cairo. Visit the Citadel of Saladin, which houses the Mosque of Muhammad Ali. Explore the Coptic Quarter, home to some of the city's oldest Christian churches, the Coptic Museum, and the Church of Saint Sergius. Conclude with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, founded in 1857 by French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette, containing over 250,000 artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. Overnight at the hotel.
